COLLABORATION
We love to talk with potential clients about how we can incorporate the style, personality, and vision of their event into their stationery. Each client’s design needs are different, and as such, each invitation we design is unique to the client.
While you’re at our studio, we’ll:
- discuss overall design aesthetic
- look through our past work to offer you inspiration
- discover paper, fabric, ribbons and embellishments that can be incorporated into your stationery
- talk about different printing methods that can be employed for your project
We’ll then turn your details and inspiration into a design that sets the tone for your special event and announces it in style.
Though we recommend an in-person consultation at our studio, the initial consultation can also be done over the phone or via e-mail. We also take consultations in Manhattan (New York City); Washington, DC; Hoboken, NJ; White Plains, NY; Princeton, NJ; and Wilmington, DE to service clients in those areas (please inquire about travel fees and available dates).
TIMELINE
Ideally, your initial consultation should occur 6-8 months before your event. We regularly work with clients who schedule their initial consultation a year (or more!) in advance of their event. Scheduling a consultation early on in the planning process ensures you have adequate time to make decisions on design and other elements, allows you to budget efficiently, and upon booking, guarantees you a spot on our production schedule.
We can also fulfill jobs on a rush basis when required and as our schedule allows. For jobs that have a shorter timeline, we will help guide you into an stationery suite that can be designed and fulfilled within the time you have.
For a wedding or mitzvah, invitations should be mailed 6-8 weeks in advance; for a party or shower, 4-6 weeks is usually sufficient. We recommend mailing invitations earlier if you have special circumstances surrounding your event, such as a destination wedding, an event during a holiday season, or an event where a large portion of guests are traveling a distance to get there. If you are planning to send Save the Dates, we recommend sending these 6-12 months before your event.
INVESTMENT
All of our stationery creations are designed and assembled specifically for each client. The choices made in print method, paper, embellishments, assembly and finishing (stamping, stuffing, sealing, delivery to post office) will directly affect the cost of your job. As a general guideline, our pricing begins at $850 for a quantity of 100 digitally (flat) printed invitation suites.
A Paper Rock Scissors invitation suite includes:
- flat card invitation (we have various sizes/shapes/paper colors available)
- RSVP card & envelope with return address printing on the front
- directions card
- single, outer envelope with an envelope liner and return address on the back flap
